Helen Jia

 

Helen Jia, mathematics teacher and analyst programmer, is now a prize-winning writer who publishes in both English and Chinese.

She has won literary awards for fiction such as Angry Lizard and poems such as Red Spider. Her works often explore human nature through her unique analytical lens and natural penchant for metaphors.

Her poetry collection A Century of Serenity was published in 2016 after winning a publication prize for best manuscript, and her children’s poetry collection Moon River and Sky Town was awarded the Wonderful Children’s Book in Shanghai in 2021. Her children's picture book "Scarecrow & Forget-Me-Not" was published in 2020 in the UK and won Pinnacle Award 2022 for Best Book of CHILDREN'S FAIRY TALES.

She lives in sunny Sydney, Australia, where the pace of life is as gentle as the waves that lap the shores.
